Our Mission Statement
Our mission at Events, Etc…, dba Elegant Event Rentals & Planning Company, is to be the leading event specialists in the Cariboo, delivering seamless events for our clients built on relationships of trust. We are dedicated to presenting affordable but exceptional service and extraordinary programs for every client through innovation, and expertise. With a focus on quality and detail, as well as actively listening to our clients’ requests, we are able to deliver beyond expectation. We strive to maintain an environment that is respectful for all and encourages innovation in our employees. We aim to continue our support of the community through volunteering and contributing to the local economy through local sourcing (when feasible), tourism, and employment.
Ashlee Hyde – Partner
Ashlee is currently employed at a non-profit organization as their Manager of Resource and Community Development. Previous to this new position, she worked for five years at a different non-profit organization as their Fundraiser/Event Coordinator, organizing events such as the Diamond Dinner, Children’s Festival and the Child Care Conference . In that position she planned, budgeted and liaised with the community to make the events a success.
She has also volunteered for many years organizing events within the community, Williams Lake Dry Grad, TRU Gala, WL Youth Soccer, and Williams Lake Studio Theatre are just to mention a few. Ashlee is currently President elect for the Rotary Club of Williams Lake.
Ashlee has a certificate in Applied Business Technology from Thompson Rivers University. She has recently completed the Event Planning Course through the QC Event School and has received her certificate as an International Event and Wedding Planning Professional. She is continuing her education with QC Event Schools on-line Decorating as well as other course to keep her fresh and innovating while helping her clients plan their special occasions.
Betty Turatus – Partner
Betty has been planning and organizing events for 30 years in the non-profit/volunteer sector, including soccer tournaments, fourteen years with Williams Lake Dry grad, and various fundraising events. As a parent in School District 27 she was a member on a variety of Parent Advisory Councils and the SD 27 District Parent Advisory Council, during that time Betty wrote grants, constitutions & By-laws, dealt with the Gaming Branch and sat on many committees.
She worked for the local university for 10 years as a Community Coordinator. As a member of the university staff/administration, Betty, planned, organized and marketed the two successful fundraising Galas, with the help of the TRU GRIT group.
She has completed the following certificates: Business Skills, Supervisory Skills and Management Skills for Supervisors. She is currently enrolled in Thompson Rivers University Open Learning to complete a Bachelor of Commence – Marketing. Although she has many years of experience in event planning, she is continually seeking Event Planning and Décor courses to keep up-dated on new innovative trends.
